Regarded by many as the greatest Formula One driver of all time, three-time World Champion Ayrton Senna was a true racer in the purest form. A determined competitor, Senna joined McLaren in 1988 where he would begin with a record-breaking season that earned his first World Championship. Inspired by this legacy, the Senna name was chosen when McLaren set-out to produce their fastest track-focused road hypercar.
The mission for the Senna was quite simple, build an uncompromising, road-legal track car that would set the fastest lap times of any McLaren to date. With an extremely aggressive appearance that epitomizes McLaren's 'form-follows-function' design philosophy, the Senna offered new levels of aerodynamic capabilities that were crucial to the pursuit of ultimate lap times. This example, number 95 of only 500 road-going examples, is further special with an MSO Satin finish Visual Full Carbon Fiber (VCF) body, a stunning option costing nearly $250,000 that is complemented by Burton Blue Aerovanes with matching brake calipers and Dark Stealth finish ultra-lightweight nine-spoke wheels, all of which contribute to this being one of the highest MSRPs we have ever seen from a McLaren Senna's being offered.
Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, this McLaren is paired with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission offering blistering acceleration. Crucial to its success on the track, the Senna offers special Formula One inspired carbon ceramic brakes which require several months to create just a single disc, but offer phenomenal braking performance that is able to slow the vehicle from 124 miles per hour to a standstill in only one hundred meters when paired with active aerodynamics. Perfect for reviewing your last track day, this example features optional McLaren track telemetry which uses built-in cameras to provide detailed feedback for the driver to use.
Loaded with options, this example includes optional door panels in Gorilla Glass and an MSO satin carbon door sill which give way to a clean Black Alcantara interior accented with Burton Blue door struts and six-point racing harnesses. With a lightweight stripped down interior, McLaren will advise that the Senna is road legal, but not sanitized to suit it. To help remedy this, an optional Bowers and Wilkins sound system is equipped along with navigation and air conditioning for some added creature comforts on the way to your next track day. Just one of 500 produced worldwide and presented with extraordinary MSO Satin Visual Full Carbon Fiber bodywork, this is one of the most extensively optioned and well specified Senna models that has ever been offered in recent memory.
