Chassis No. Y-GS001
The 1968 Penske Sunoco Camaro, driven by Mark Donohue and Ronnie Bucknum, is a car that defines an era for many road racing fans in America. It delivered Chevrolet their first ever Trans Am Championship and no doubt helped Chevrolet sell a ton of Camaros! This 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Sunoco Race Car wears a livery that pays homage to that championship winning racing car and was appropriately raced by their sons, noted racing car drivers David Donohue and Jeff Bucknum. Campaigned by Stevenson Motorsports, this factory built racing car was engineered by Riley Technologies. Powered by an 6.2-liter LS3, this Camaro features a Tremec six-speed manual transmission. Offering a finely tuned chassis, this vehicle is equipped with Koni shocks along with upgraded braking and cooling systems. A true racing car, it features a full roll-cage in addition to lightweight carbon fiber body components being utilized to remove unsprung weight, the enemy of any racing car. The interior features a fire-suppression system and Sparco racing seat with Sparco steering wheel. Paying homage to one of the true SCCA Trans Am legends, this Camaro features a matching livery and equally impressive driver history to follow.
