The California Mille is truly among the world's most extraordinary driving events, combining sporting motor cars and devoted enthusiasts who gather each April to share in the experience of driving 1,000 miles on some of California's best roads. Officially recognized by the Mille Miglia from the outset, the California Mille's founder Martin Swig first hosted the event in 1991 and it has been guided by his founding philosophy ever since: “important cars, little roads, and wonderful friends.”

Following the event's stewardship by Martin's sons David and Howard, Hagerty added the California Mille to its roster of immersive automotive events in 2020 and has continued the Swig family tradition. As such, about 65-70 cars are invited per year, each of which must meet the longstanding criteria of having been built prior to 1 January 1958 as well as having been eligible for racing in the original Mille Miglia in period. Drivers are treated to first-rate nightly accommodations and wonderful dining and social experiences along the way.

This particular lot includes one entry into the 2025 California Mille, which is scheduled to be hosted 20-24 April 2025, and which carries an anticipated value of approximately $15,000 onto itself. The event includes five nights of accommodations alongside four days of driving, and of course all meals are included. The winning bidder and one companion will additionally have the benefit of utilizing a car provided by Hagerty and Broad Arrow, if they so choose, specifically for the purpose of this driving event and the car will be delivered to and from the start and finish of the rally, for the convenience of the participant. Given the California Mille's specific pre-1958 eligibility requirement, this is a wonderful opportunity not only for enthusiasts who have yet to enjoy this event but also those drivers with a more modern focus whose cars may not otherwise be eligible for the event.

The driver must be of legal driving age with current, active licensure and must pass a motor vehicle background check if requested. The winning bidder is required to carry primary insurance for the duration of the event and is responsible for liability and/or physical damage.
