A copy of the Kardex warranty card for this 1961 356 Coupe shows that it was completed on 2 March 1961, destined for the famous Max Moritz dealership based in Reutlingen, Germany. The dealership, just south of Stuttgart, specified the car in Schiefergrau (Slate Gray) over a Red Kunstleder interior and fitted with Dunlop tires. Furthermore, the Kardex reveals that the Coupe was fitted with the optional Type 616/2 1600 Super engine that produced 75 horsepower, 15 more than the standard “Normal.”
The Kardex shows that the car was in the United States by 1961, likely showing the car may have been purchased by a member of the military stationed in Germany, or through Porsche's tourist delivery program. Since then, the engine has been replaced with the current engine serial and type numbers revealing that the original unit was replaced with a 1.6-liter Type 616/36M engine with dual Solex carburetors from 912, offering improved performance and drivability with 90 horsepower.
The history file notes that the car received a major service in 2011 by Red Line Racing in Thornaby, England with a carburetor rebuild, an overhaul to the braking and electrical systems, and the installation of a new starter and muffler, with the invoice totaling over 4,600€. More recently, the car was acquired by the current owner in 2015. Since purchasing the car, it benefits from recent service work that includes replacing rubber seals, trim pieces, and paint work. Accompanying the car is a copy of its Kardex warranty card and its Porsche-issued Certificate of Authenticity.

La copia della scheda di garanzia Kardex di questa 356 Coupé mostra che è stata completata il 2 marzo 1961 e destinata alla famosa concessionaria Max Moritz di Reutlingen, in Germania. La concessionaria, situata poco a sud di Stoccarda, ha ordinato l’auto in Schiefergrau (Grigio Ardesia) con interni in Red Kunstleder — pelle rossa — e pneumatici Dunlop. Inoltre, la Kardex rivela che la Coupé è originariamente equipaggiata con il motore opzionale Tipo 616/2 1600 Super in grado di erogare 75 cavalli, 15 in più rispetto a quello standard.
L’auto, come s’evince sempre dal Kardex, è già negli Stati Uniti nei restanti mesi del 1961, il che fa presumere possa esser stata acquistata da un membro delle forze armate di stanza in Germania o attraverso il “Tourist Delivery Program” di Porsche. In seguito, il propulsore originale viene sostituito con quello attuale, un’unità da 1.6 litri Tipo 616/36M con doppi carburatori Solex espiantato da una 912: forte dei suoi 90 cavalli, regala prestazioni e doti dinamiche ancora più entusiasmanti rispetto al 612/2.
La documentazione, poi, riporta che questa 356 ha beneficiato di un'importante check-up nel 2011 effettuato dalla Red Line Racing di Thornaby, in Inghilterra, non senza la ricostruzione di un carburatore, la revisione dell’impianto frenante e di quello elettrico, l’installazione di un motorino d’avviamento e di un silenziatore nuovi, per una spesa totale di oltre 4.600 euro. L'auto è stata acquistata dall'attuale proprietario nel 2015 e, da allora, è stata sottoposta ad interventi di manutenzione che hanno incluso la sostituzione di alcune guarnizioni in gomma, rifiniture varie e piccoli ritocchi alla carrozzeria. Corredata da una copia della scheda di garanzia Kardex e dal suo certificato di autenticità rilasciato da Porsche.
