As noted on its accompanying Kardex, this top-of-the-line 356 B Cabriolet was delivered new in the United States to the famous Brumos Porsche dealership of Jacksonville, Florida, on 21 December 1962. Its first owner was none other than Hubert Brundage himself, founder of Brundage Motors (BruMos), who turned a Volkswagen dealership into a legend of Porsche motorsport. Brundage ordered the costliest pushrod 356 variant, a Cabriolet powered by the potent, 90-horsepower, high-compression 1.6-liter flat four. Being a late production “T6” model, this car boosts the twin grille design and an external fuel filler on the front right fender. It was additionally ordered in the rare shade of optional Black over Black leather, the car was additionally specified with twin armrests, headrests, and chrome wheels.
The Kardex notes that Brundage retained the car for a short period when it was acquired by Alan Bruckner, a lawyer in Miami who regularly used the sporting Porsche for a decade. The car was then placed into storage with engine problems before it was discovered as an enticing project in the 1990s. Upon removing it from storage, it was the subject of a multi-year restoration. The original engine case was replaced with an unstamped replacement sourced directly from Porsche and rebuilt to Super 90 specification. Additional work included refinishing both the body and the interior in its original specified triple black livery. To match the gleaming new paint, the trim was chrome plated, a new soft top was fitted, and countless seals were replaced. The car was then purchased by the current owner in 2016, when it was exported to the Netherlands.
Not only the most expensive pushrod-powered 356 when new, this potent Cabriolet has the added appeal of being purchased new by Hubert Brundage, the founder of the legendary Brumos Porsche. It is furnished with a copy of its Kardex, a Porsche-issued Certificate of Authenticity, Driver's manual, annex to the driver's manual, Blaupunkt radio information, and maintenance instructions book.

Come indicato sulla scheda Kardex che l’accompagna, questa 356 B Cabriolet, al vertice della gamma Porsche, viene consegnata nuova negli Stati Uniti presso la famosa concessionaria Brumos Porsche di Jacksonville, in Florida, il 21 dicembre 1962. Il suo primo proprietario è nientemeno che Hubert Brundage in persona, fondatore della Brundage Motors — BruMos, appunto — capace di trasformare un’umile concessionaria Volkswagen in una leggenda del motorsport targato Porsche. Brundage ordina la variante 356 più costosa, ovvero la Cabriolet alimentata dal potente motore boxer a quattro cilindri da 1,6 litri in grado di erogare 90 cavalli. Trattandosi di un modello “T6”, quindi prodotto nei primissimi anni Sessanta, la vettura vanta il design a doppia griglia e il bocchettone di rifornimento sul parafango anteriore destro. Inoltre, la vettura è stata ordinata nella rara combinazione opzionale di carrozzeria nera e interni in pelle nera, con le specifiche dei doppi braccioli, dei poggiatesta e dei cerchi cromati.
La scheda Kardex evidenza anche che Brundage ha tenuto l’auto solo per un breve periodo, prima di venderla ad Alan Bruckner, un avvocato di Miami che l’ha usata regolarmente per un decennio. La Porsche finisce poi in un magazzino per via di alcuni problemi al motore, prima di essere scoperta negli anni Novante e diventare la protagonista di un interessante progetto di restauro pluriennale. Il basamento del motore originale viene sostituito con un ricambio non marchiato, acquistato direttamente da Porsche, ricostruito secondo le specifiche Super 90. Altri lavori hanno, invece, interessato la carrozzeria, ben rifinita nella sua livrea originale tri-strato, e gli interni in pelle nera. Per abbinarsi meglio al nuovo look dato dalla nuova, scintillante verniciatura, tutte le cromature sono state rinfrescate, ed è stata montata una nuova capote così come sono state sostituite innumerevoli guarnizioni. La vettura passa nelle mani dell'attuale proprietario nel 2016, quando è stata esportata in Olanda.
Questa non è solo la 356 con motore ad aste e bilancieri più costosa del suo tempo, può anche fregiarsi di essere stata acquistata nuova da Hubert Brundage, fondatore della leggendaria Brumos. Non mancano copia della sua scheda garanzia Kardex, un certificato di autenticità rilasciato da Porsche, il manuale d’uso del conducente con il suo allegato dedicato, il libretto delle istruzioni per la manutenzione e quello della radio Blaupunkt installata.
