The Lincoln KA offered here is not only a beautiful example of a 1934 Convertible Roadster but also a significant piece of Hollywood history. As confirmed by the Roy Rogers Museum, this stunning Lincoln was once owned by the legendary cowboy singer and served as his perfect weekend car. In the early 1930s, Roy Rogers, originally known as Leonard Slye, formed the Pioneer Trio with Bob Nolan and Tim Spencer, which later became the Sons of the Pioneers. When Rogers learned that Republic Pictures was looking for a new singing cowboy star to rival Gene Autry, he took matters into his own hands. He snuck into the studio, managed to get an audition, and locked into a contract for $75 a week. His first major film success came in 1938 with Under Western Stars, an instant hit that marked the beginning of his rise to fame.

In the late 1990s, the car received a comprehensive restoration commissioned by its owner, Carl Moritz. Tasking noted expert restorer Rick Kriss, the car benefited from numerous new old stock parts sourced from across the country for an authentic restoration. The bodywork was refinished in a deep black paint job accented with rich scarlet-red skirted fenders and detailing. The red leather interior and black soft top complement one another perfectly, while the car's swooping body lines and slanted V-shaped radiator give it a powerful, sporty stance. The body's curves seamlessly flow into the running boards, enhancing its sporting elegance.

Once the restoration was completed, this Lincoln KA earned a second-place trophy in the prestigious Class C2 category at the 1999 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, competing against some of the finest cars in the world. It was previously noted that the car also earned first place honors with the Classic Car Club of America at a national event and a Premier badge for its exceptional restoration. Only 36 of these Dietrich-designed, Murray-built Model 523B KAs were constructed in 1934, and this is the only one owned by the famed Roy Rogers.
