The 1939 Buick lineup introduced smart styling changes, highlighted by a two-piece "waterfall" grille and more enveloping fenders. The Century Convertible Coupe (Model 66-C) exemplified this refined design with its full folding soft top and roll-up windows that created a sophisticated silhouette in both open and closed configurations. The influence of Harley Earl's design philosophy was becoming evident, though headlamps remained mounted on pods—a feature that would soon give way to fully integrated fenders and lamps. The 320.2 cu-in, 141 horsepower overhead-valve Dynaflash straight-eight engine powered these handsomely styled automobiles, complemented by independent front suspension, coil springs, and hydraulic brakes for advanced performance in its class.

This fine example of a Series 60 Convertible Coupe is further complemented by optional fully enclosed, side-mounted spares, fender-mounted parking lights, dual mirrors, and desirable "Stream Board” running boards. According to previous research, the car was once part of the Len Immke Collection before undergoing a comprehensive multi-year restoration for National Show purposes, completed in 1999. After restoration, the Century was extensively shown across the United States, accumulating numerous awards including a Buick Club of America Senior Award in 2002 as indicated by an accompanying grille badge. Presented in its original shade of Sequoia Cream with red leather upholstery and jump seats, the exterior features a black convertible top, body-color wheels with polished Buick covers, and BFGoodrich Silvertown wide whitewall tires. The charming Art Deco interior is fitted with a rare and correct 15 mph incremental speedometer, electric clock, Sonomatic radio, and Buick Air Control, while the trunk caries numerous accessories including tools, jack, lug wrench, boot cover, brochure, and assorted Buick literature.

The Buick was acquired by the Academy of Art University Collection in 2006 and has been shown selectively since, including at the 2018 Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance, presenting its next owner with exceptional opportunities for continued concours exhibition and classic car events.
