The DB2/4 Mark III ushered in a host of visual and technical refinements in 1957 to Aston Martin's 2+2 grand tourer. Its new DB3S-style grille, designed by Bert Thickpenny at Tickford, set the template for Aston Martin's most distinct design language. Inside, the Mark III featured a redesigned dashboard with its instruments now grouped in a panel in front of the driver, enhancing aesthetics and usability. Engine guru Tadek Marek reworked the car's 2.9-liter straight-six with new and stronger internals, now producing 162 horsepower in standard form, but an optional twin-tailpipe exhaust system boosted power output to 178 horsepower. Improved clutch and transmission components were paired with standard front disc brakes, delivering the best performance and drivability yet seen in a roadgoing Aston.

This 1957 Aston Martin DB2/4 MK III Coupe is one of only 462 examples produced. According to its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, this example was manufactured 31 October 1957 and was originally specified in Black over Red Connolly Vaumol hides. Built as a left-hand drive North American Export, it was delivered new to Peter Satori Company—the distinguished high-end British marque dealer in Northern California.

In the early 2000s, the Aston was personally and painstakingly restored by a previous owner in Illinois. Photos on file as early as 2006 show the car in various stages of completion in the owner's workshop, and renowned Aston Martin experts Kevin Kay Restorations provided several parts to cap off the restoration c. 2011. During this refurbishment, the engine was rebuilt and was fitted with a BorgWarner five-speed manual transmission. The car was repainted a stunning metallic blue over a blue leather interior with matching seatbelts. It was equipped with aftermarket enhancements including 16-inch Dayton wire wheels, a Quicksilver stainless steel dual exhaust, solid-state fuel pump, electronic ignition, Blaupunkt amplifier and speakers, plus LED brake lights, turn signals, and interior lights.

Following its completion, the owner proudly showcased the reborn Aston at multiple shows and won the Horace Wilmshurst Memorial Trophy at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Lime Rock Event that year.

The consignor acquired this striking Aston Martin in December 2022, with the express purpose of taking it on the prestigious Colorado Grand; participating in the 2023 tour the following September. It is offered now with spares including its original four-speed transmission and copies of period instruction books, workshop manuals, and other supplementary literature. The car is additionally furnished with a deluxe version of its British Motor Heritage Trust Certificate that includes a reproduction of its original build sheet and guarantee in a leather document wallet.
