The XK150, launched in May 1957, was initially available in fixed-head coupé and drophead convertible body styles. As an evolution of the elegant XK120 and XK140 series, the chassis remained much the same as before, as did the 3.4-liter six-cylinder “XK” engine producing 190 hp in standard form. Engine upgrades were available with special variants offering 210 hp and 250 hp.

Similar in outward appearance to the XK140, subtle and significant styling changes enhanced passenger comfort. Interior space increased with Jaguar engineers widening the body four inches, using thinner doors, and moving the more modern wrap-around, one-piece windshield four inches forward for easier passenger access. A much larger rear window considerably improved visibility. Dunlop disc brakes, developed by Jaguar and race proven at Le Mans in 1953 on the C-Type, were fitted on all four wheels, which made the XK150, along with the XKSS, the first Jaguar production car so equipped.

Delivered by Jaguar Cars, New York, to EW Overstreet of Los Angeles, California in January 1958 this XK150 was originally trimmed in Cotswold Blue with matching Dark Blue hides and equipped with a Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission. It was later restored in period correct Carmen Red with Biscuit hides and upgraded to a correct type four-speed transmission.
Its “S” chassis number prefix indicates that this XK150 was equipped as a “Special Equipment Model.” This sought-after model featured a special “B” type cylinder head, with twin SU H.D.6 carburetors, Dunlop single pair pad disc brakes with servo assistance, chrome wire wheels with center-lock “knock-off” hubs, dual exhaust system, and windshield washers. The engine upgrades of a B “blue top” cylinder head and larger exhaust valves increased available horsepower to 210 from the standard 190 hp.

This finely restored example of Jaguar's third and final incarnation of the original XK concept is finished in lovely period colors and with an elegantly appointed interior. It is accompanied by an Operating Handbook, knock-off hammer, jack, grease gun, and trunk-mounted spare wheel along with a copy of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate confirming the original build details.
