Imported to France by the official importer and distributor, Société des Automobiles Simca of Paris in 1970, this Dodge Dart 4-Door Sedan was one of just 312 examples assembled in Switzerland that year. Powered by the 2.7-liter “slant-six,” it was optioned with the three-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission. The Dart is believed to have remained in Paris with the original dealer for several years until it was eventually purchased by Gérard Roger René Léon Vasseur of the Parisian neighborhood of Joinville-le-Pont. The car then caught the current owner's attention at the 1991 Retromobile classic car show, as he was taken in by the car's incredible level of preservation and originality.
In January 2022, TÜV Rheinland FSP completed an inspection of the car, with the report noting that the Dart is a "very original car, very low mileage," and that it is "very good, original" and still retains its original stamps on the fenders from production. The report concluded, "The degree of originality of the vehicle is extraordinary." With just 18,600 kilometers recorded at cataloging, the car remains a time capsule example showing little signs of wear and use. Seldom seen on the roads today, this rare Swiss-built Dart is surely one of the finest examples remaining examples of the model extant.
