Among the most respected names in the world of Jaguar recreations, Lynx Motors earned its reputation the hard way, first as a repair and restoration specialist for original Jaguar C- and D-Types before turning that intimate knowledge into exquisitely executed recreations. Often described as "tool-room copies," Lynx-built recreations are renowned for their authenticity, constructed using original factory blueprints and traditional coachbuilding techniques employed by Coventry's craftsmen in the 1950s.

The 1952 Jaguar C-Type Recreation offered here was commissioned new by the current owner, a Belgian collector of '50s and '60s competition cars, in 2010, created to capture the uncompromising driving experience of Jaguar's two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner. Importantly, the donor car was a Jaguar Mark VII Saloon, meaning this Lynx is powered by a period-correct 3,442-cc DOHC straight-six XK engine breathing through twin S.U. carburetors. Finished by XK Engineering as it presents today, the car wears a period-appropriate shade of British Racing Green, sourced with the help of the Jaguar Heritage Trust to match the exact hue used in period, set off beautifully by a yellow center stripe. In total, the bespoke build cost £110,000—quite a sum in 2010!

Upon completion, it was issued an FIA Historic Technical Passport in January 2011, certifying full compliance with period C-Type specifications and confirming eligibility for FIA-sanctioned historic racing events. Though expired at the time of cataloging, renewing this passport could open doors to some of the historic racing's most coveted grids if accepted, such as the Goodwood Members' Meeting, Masters Historic Racing, or Peter Auto events including Dix Mille Tours, Spa Classic, and Le Mans Classic. Accompanied by a previous U.K. V5 registration document, this C-Type could also readily obtain EU road registration, which would make it eligible for prestigious road rallies such as the Modena Cento Ore.

Broad Arrow reserves the right to collect a deposit of 20% of the sale price from the Buyer which will be refunded after receiving satisfactory evidence of removal from France and registration in another EU country.

Souvent décrites comme des "copies d'atelier", les recréations de Lynx sont renommées pour leur authenticité, car construites à partir des plans originaux d'usine et en recourant aux techniques des artisans de Coventry des années 1950.

La recréation de la Jaguar Type C de 1952 proposée ici fut commandée neuve en 2010 par son actuel propriétaire, un collectionneur belge de voitures de compétition des années 1950 et 1960, qui voulait retrouver l'expérience de pilotage sans concession de la Jaguar deux fois victorieuse aux 24 Heures du Mans. Il est important de noter que la voiture donneuse est une berline Jaguar Mark VII, ce qui signifie que cette Lynx est dotée d'un six-cylindres en ligne XK, un double arbre de 3 442 cm3 d'époque alimenté par deux carburateurs SU. Elle doit à XK Engineering sa couleur actuelle, le vert British Racing Green d'alors, approvisionnée avec l'aide du Jaguar Heritage Trust pour reproduire exactement la teinte d'autrefois, qui est ici magnifiée par une bande centrale jaune. Cette construction sur demande coûta 110 000 livres sterling, une belle somme en 2010 !

Une fois achevée, la voiture reçut en janvier 2011 un passeport technique historique FIA qui certifiait sa totale fidélité à la définition des Type C de l'époque et confirmait son éligibilité aux manifestations sportives historiques agréées par la FIA. Ce passeport est expiré à l'heure de l'établissement de ce catalogue, mais son renouvellement, s'il est accepté, pourrait donner accès à certaines des grilles de départ les plus convoitées parmi des courses historiques telles que le Goodwood Members' Meeting, le Masters Historic Racing ou les manifestations de Peter Auto dont les Dix Mille Tours, le Spa Classic et Le Mans Classic. Cette Type C est en possession d'un ancien document d'immatriculation britannique V5 et pourrait aussi aisément se faire immatriculer dans l'UE pour usage routier, ce qui la rendrait éligible à de prestigieux rallyes routiers tels que le Modena Cento Ore.
