The magical sound of a calliope is familiar to anyone who has ever enjoyed a riverboat cruise or a trip to the circus. The ornately detailed wooden calliope wagon offered here, finished in rich crimson and gold, was formerly owned by Mr. Taylor's late father, Willard Taylor, who was an avid enthusiast of such creations. For some years it would make regular appearances in parades in the Gloversville area, towed by the Willys Jeepster also offered in this sale. Complete with a trailer on which to transport the wagon longer distances, its Tangley Model 43 instrument was sorted several years ago by a noted calliope specialist and is believed to be in functional condition.
