Memorabilia Online Auction Part 1
Lot 205: 1991 Brabham BT60Y Ex Martin Brundle Formula One Car
Estimate - £50,000 - £75,000
Brabham is a name synonymous with racing success. Jack Brabham was a three-time Formula One World Champion and won his last Championship in a team and car bearing his own name. Team Brabham went on to win further World Championships with Denny Hulme and Nelson Piquet, whilst multiple race wins were also achieved with the likes of Graham Hill, Jacky Ickx, Carlos Reutemann and Niki Lauda.
This car, chassis 001, was used by Brundle in the San Marino Grand Prix where he qualified 18th on the grid and finished 11th in the race. It was also used in practice by the team for the Monaco Grand Prix and then acted as the primary spare car for the rest of the year.
Sold today as a ‘show car’ complete with its original gearbox casing, but without the engine and other running gear, it represents a wonderful opportunity to own a fantastic display piece with genuine Brabham Formula One race history and provenance.
